Mitchell Marsh faces huge backlash for resting legs on World Cup, Meera Chopra, Kishwer Merchant and others slam Australian cricketer | iTimes

Australian cricketer Mitchell Marsh has sparked controversy after appearing with a FIFA World Cup trophy while having his feet on it. The photo was shared by Australia captain Pat Cummins on his Instagram account hours after he lifted the World Cup by defeating India at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. It appears to have been taken inside the dressing room, with Marsh crossing his legs over the trophy as he showed off his gold medal. The photo went viral after cricket fans started criticizing the cricketer for disrespecting the trophy. Now, Priyanka Chopra’s sister Meera Chopra, who made her Bollywood debut with the late Satish Kaushik’s film ‘Gangs Of Ghosts’, took her X and tweeted a picture of Marsh with a note saying: ‘Don’t respect what made you respected!’ Actress Kishore Merchant posted her Instagram story and criticized Marsh for his behavior with a note that read: “Wow, this is how much respect you have for your craft, your game and your fans?” Australia no one can ignore this, it’s pretty clear you guys didn’t deserve this, you had a better day than us. Rashami Desai also expressed her displeasure through a social media post. She also shared the same photo and wrote a note saying: “In your country there may be people who like this.” But in our country we worship our celebration. And after seeing this picture, I feel like “Haar kar jeetne wale ko baazigar kehte hain” #proutobeindian. For more news and updates, follow us on ETimes.
