Virat Kohli won the Best Player award for his brilliance in the game World Cup final against Australia at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Team India coach T Dilip consoled the dressing room after India lost by six wickets in the final.
“Guys, I know it’s tough and I’m in pain but it is what it is. We did everything right and still the result is not in our favor. But I think as Rahul bhai said, we can all be proud of ourselves,” he added.
“I appreciate and thank every player in this group who committed themselves in the training sessions. The way you put yourself on the line, you put intention and energy. I couldn’t ask for more. Well done!”
Dileep praised India’s fielding efforts during the tournament and praised Virat Kohli for his performance on the field in the final match.

“During this tournament, I think we got some great shots but what I really liked was the brotherhood that we share on the field. The way everyone supported each other, the way he supported everyone. That’s great to see.
“And I just see that he grew up as a team player on the field and today’s winner, he was a fantastic player. He sets great standards for himself and every time he steps on the field he works magic. The best thing about him is that he not only dies well, but… His actions inspire a lot of people and he is none other than Virat Kohli.”
Kohli scored 765 runs and picked up one wicket and was named Player of the Tournament in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.
